Our plans are to demolish the following:

Easter 1

1st of March: Short-term Lending Legal Changes.

As of the 1st of March, all short-term lenders will be enforcing the new regulations that have been given by legislation. In order to continue to provide excellent customer service and maintain our established Cash2Go reputation, we have listed the new changes (In the quickest way possible) that will apply to all future applications.

* Ca$h2Go guarantees that all short-term fees are capped. No fees will add up to be more than the total amount borrowed.

* First-time borrowers will need to provide 90 days worth of bank statements for review.  For returning customers that have not borrowed in-between a 90 day period, again the 90 days of bank statements will need to be supplied. This is to establish that all short-term loans that are taken out are suitable and repayable to the individual.

* Our minimum repayment period is 16 days for any short-term loan.

* If a 3rd short-term loan is applied for within a 90 day period, (Includes borrowing from other lenders) then a reassessment of financial details may occur. This is so we can practice responsible lending and make sure that there are no re-occurring financial difficulties.

Cash2Go is proud to be a responsible lender and this is another step to ensuring our customers are only offered affordable loans. The above regulations are for all short-term lenders and they will be enforced from the 1st of March.

Decline of the Credit Card?

According to recent figures, Australian consumers are relying less and less on their credit cards and beginning to deal mainly in cash and through the use of debit cards – 2012 has experienced the slowest credit card growth in Australia for almost 3 years! Furthermore, in the same period, cash withdrawals using debit cards have increased by a huge 42.7%.

This data clearly shows that Australians are becoming more aware of the effects credit card debt can have on their lives – it is an easy cycle to get sucked into. People are shying away from credit cards after learning their lesson from making the minimum repayments every month, realising later on that this often results in hefty interest costs. For example, one of the girls in the office recently received her credit card bill – she had run up a bill of about $6,000. She recently moved house and took out a credit card to help with the costs – movers, new furniture, paint, kitchen appliances, etc. So how long do you think it would take her to pay off the balance if she only made the minimum payment each month?

If she makes the minimum repayment every month, it would take 57 years and 8 months to completely pay off her credit card – including interest this would cost her about $22,153.24!!
We were shocked by these figures! Are you? Leave us a comment and let us know what you think!
